What is a cookie
A cookie is a small file stored on your device when you visit a website. It lets the site recognise your browser, keep you signed in, and remember some preferences.
Cookies we use
TrekHub uses an authentication cookie needed to provide the service and a language-preference cookie:
- __Host-trekhub_refresh
- Keeps you signed in. Stores your refresh token, HttpOnly and Secure, and expires after 7 days. Your access token is kept in memory, not in a cookie.
- NEXT_LOCALE
- Remembers your chosen language (English or French) for up to one year.
Cookieless audience measurement
TrekHub uses a self-hosted Umami instance on its European infrastructure to understand overall site use and improve the service. Umami sets no cookie and uses neither local storage nor advertising profiles.
Measurement may include the page viewed, its title, the referrer, browser, device, language, and an approximate region. It is not used to track your browsing across other websites or to make an individual decision about you.
TrekHub uses no advertising cookies or third-party advertising trackers. If we add a technology that requires consent, we will ask for your choice before enabling it.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking the authentication cookie prevents you from staying signed in; blocking the language cookie only means your choice will not be remembered.
