These Terms of Service, effective 19 September 2026, govern your use of TrekHub, published by TREKHUB (see the Legal Notice for publisher details).
Purpose of the service
TrekHub is a social platform for hikers and trekkers. It helps you find compatible partners, form crews, plan treks collaboratively, and browse editorial guides.
TrekHub is not a travel agency, does not sell tours, and does not process bookings or payments. Any agreement or payment with another trekker takes place off-platform, directly between the parties concerned.
Acceptance of the terms
By creating an account or using TrekHub, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Eligibility and account
- You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a contract.
- You provide accurate information and keep your profile up to date.
- You keep your login credentials confidential and are responsible for activity on your account.
- One person holds a single personal account; accounts may not be shared or sold.
Acceptable use
You agree to use TrekHub respectfully and lawfully. In particular, you must not:
- harass, threaten, or discriminate against other members;
- publish illegal, hateful, violent, or misleading content;
- impersonate someone else or create a fake profile;
- send spam, scrape the platform, or disrupt its operation;
- post inaccurate trek, route, or safety information that could endanger others.
Your content
You keep ownership of the content you publish (messages, trek plans, profiles). You grant TrekHub a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence limited to hosting, technically reproducing, formatting, transmitting, and displaying that content to provide and operate the service.
This licence ends when the content is deleted, except where shared content must remain available to other participants, is anonymised, remains temporarily in backups, or must be retained to meet a legal obligation.
You are responsible for what you publish. We may moderate, hide, or remove any content that breaches these terms or the law.
Reporting content and moderation
To report content that is illegal or breaches these terms, write to contact@trekhub.app. Give its exact location, the factual and legal reasons for the report, your name and an address where we can reach you, and confirm in good faith that the information is accurate and complete.
We acknowledge the report and communicate our decision where required by law. We may hide or remove content, or suspend the account responsible.
If we remove your content or restrict your account, we explain the reason unless prohibited by law. You may request reconsideration at the same address.
Crews, matching, and off-platform agreements
Matching and crew suggestions are informational tools to help you meet compatible trekkers. They do not guarantee compatibility or safety.
You remain solely responsible for any agreement reached with other trekkers, for the choices you make, and for your own safety before and during a trek.
Availability and changes
TrekHub is provided as is, including during its beta phase. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features, and we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, TrekHub is not liable for off-platform agreements, for the conduct of other members, for content published by users, or for incidents occurring during a trek. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under French law.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the law. You can delete your account at any time from your settings.
Deletion removes data specific to your account and profile. Messages, budgets, notes, and other contributions already shared with a crew may be retained to preserve its collective history; the author is then shown as “Deleted account”. Details are set out in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to the terms
We may update these terms. We will state their effective date and notify you of significant changes through the platform or by email. Where the law or the nature of a change requires it, we will ask for your explicit agreement. Otherwise, the current version governs use of the service from its effective date.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. In case of a dispute, we will first seek an amicable solution. Failing agreement, statutory jurisdiction rules apply. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections or the courts available to you in your country of residence.
